The festival begins at 11:00 a.m. and continues nonstop until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and goes from Noon until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday with all of the authentic Greek food, delicious Greek pastries, live music, traditional Greek dancing and costumes that have made this event a favorite. Delicious homemade Greek pastries prepared by members of St. George are available to eat or take home. The popular a la carte menu is available throughout the festival and includes traditional favorites such as roast lamb plate and roast lamb sandwich, gyro, souvlaki, pastichio, spanakopita, Greek salad, and much more. Enjoy tours of the beautiful church and Byzantine iconography and are offered throughout the day and evening. Most popular are presentations about the Greek Orthodox religion and the history of the faithful. “Our festival gives us, as people of faith, the opportunity and good fortune to share our Orthodox faith while providing a window into our jubilant culture,” said Father John Kostas. The marketplace will include fine and imported costume jewelry, imported gifts, cultural art, a bookstore, an authentic taverna, pastry sale, Greek wines, coffee and frappes. Papou’s pantry will offer authentic Greek products for preparing Greek foods and Greek wines will be available for purchase at the taverna. Lazaros from Cincinnatti, OH will entertain you with both traditional Greek Bouzouki music as well as sounds from the Greek disco nightlife.
