Knoxville goes to the dogs
Don’t be surprised if you hear “sit,” “roll over,” or “stay” uttered a little more frequently Oct. 31-Nov. 1 as the 75th anniversary of the Tennessee Valley Kennel Club’s (TVKC) All Breed Show comes to Knoxville’s Chilhowee Park.
The Jacob Building will be packed with more than 1,000 dogs from all across the United States representing seven different competition groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding. Special competition trails in the Collie Specialties and Canine Good Citizen categories will be conducted. Plus, Obedience and Rally trails will take place on both days beginning at 9 a.m. in Chilhowee Park’s Golden Gloves Arena.
Vendors will be on hand selling gourmet dog cookies, fancy collars, bedding supplies and assorted goodies for man’s best friend.
Admission will be $5 per vehicle for parking and dogs not competing in the show will not be permitted.
