Whether visitors want to tour the Museum of East TN History with its many permanent and temporary exhibits including information on Cherokee Indians, the Civil War, emergence of Country Music and more or visit the Calvin M. McClung Historical collection to research geneologies,this building has all one needs to learn more about East Tennessee.

The Civil War, a gunfight on Gay Street in 1882, and a Breach of Promise lawsuit in the early 1930's are only a few stories that bring life and color to those who visit the Mabry-Hazen House. The Bethel Cemetery is the final resting place for over 1,600 Confederate soldiers. On site is the original caretaker's cottage built in 1886 that contains a small museum, as well as a 48 ft. tall Confederate monument erected in 1892.
Volunteer Landing is a 3 acre park that features water access, picnic tables and fishing docks along with a playground, blueway put in, concession stand, open space, restrooms and includes Neyland and James White Greenway.
Fort Dickerson is 85 acres and features 2 shelters, a picnic table, open space, an unpaved trail, and scenic views. There is also the Fort Dickerson Earthen Fort, the Harold Lambert Overlook and 3 quthentic replica cannons.

Confederate Memorial Hall was a focal point of history during the Siege of Knoxville as the headquarters for General James Longstreet. Today the antebellum house is a museum owned by Knoxville Chapter 89 UDC.
