The East TN Historical Society has all a visitor needs to learn about the region's history in one building. Whether visitors want to tour the Museum of East TN History with its many permanent and temporary exhibits including information on Cherokee Indians, the Civil War, emergence of Country Music and more or visit the Calvin M. McClung Historical collection to research geneologies,this building has all one needs to learn more about East Tennessee.

The Knoxville Museum of Art celebrates the art and artists of East Tennessee, presents new art and new ideas, serves and educates diverse audiences, and enhances Knoxvilles quality of life. The museum is located in downtown Knoxville at 1050 Worlds Fair Park and is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10-5 pm, and Sunday 1 pm-5 pm. Admission and parking are free.

The Old Smoky Railway Museum Inc. is located along the edge of the Historic Old City in Downtown Knoxville. This museum features serveral historic railway cars and cabooses on site near an old depot.

The Emporium Center is Knoxville's first true arts center with two galleries, cultural office spaces, and artist studios. Admission is always free.

Theatre Knoxville is located downtown and is the longest continuously operating non-academic theater in Knoxville. A wide range of adult and children's plays are offered to watch through out the year.

Knoxville Opera provides the following annual services to our community: - Three major fully-staged professional opera productions at Tennessee Theatre - Two major concerts - 75-100 Education/Outreach Programs serving 15,000+ students & 40,000+ adults including the widely popular Rossini Festival - An information resource about opera and musical theatre - Set and prop rental/loans to other theatrical organizations.

Under the leadership of Lucas Richman, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra consists of more than 80 professional musicians and performs more than 200 programs throughout East Tennessee each season.
