Knoxville Visitor Center partners with WDVX for First Friday celebration

The Knoxville Visitor Center will partner with WDVX to host its monthly First Friday celebration on Friday, Nov. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.

November’s First Friday coincides with WDVX’s 11th anniversary and Listener Appreciation Day.  Entertainment for the evening will include the Y’uns, live on the WDVX stage, located in the Visitor Center.  Additionally, the Uniquely Knoxville gift shop will offer specials on its vast selection of local and Americana music CDs.

“We are excited to partner with WDVX for our monthly First Friday celebration,” says Alice Fleenor, director of visitor services for the Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation. “This event will be entertaining for the whole family.”

The Y’uns is a Knoxville-based goodtime acoustic band that blends elements of folk, swing, country and blues.

The Knoxville Visitor Center is located on the corner of Gay Street and Summit Hill Avenue in downtown Knoxville.  The Visitor Center hosts the WDVX Blue Plate Special on weekdays, which includes noontime live music and lunch for purchase.  The building also boasts the Café Gourmet Coffee Bar, carrying Goodson Brothers gourmet coffee, and the Uniquely Knoxville gift shop.
