Improving home and community life

Women from across the state are traveling to Knoxville for the Tennessee Association for Family and Community Education (TAFCE) 27th annual conference.

Set for November 9-12 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the “Make a Difference” themed conference will focus on promoting education and growth in Tennessee communities.

Carrie Davis Marchant, vice president of development of Foundations For Life Principles, LLC, and the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth’s 2005 Child Advocate of the Year, is the conference’s keynote speaker.

Many of the conference activities will benefit local charities. Attendees will help create fleece blankets and will knit “cancer caps” to donate to local hospitals, as well as gather canned goods to donate to the Love Kitchen.

The conference will also include a variety of events and activities from tours of the Tennessee Theatre to fashion shows and cultural arts programs.

The Tennessee Association for Family and Community has worked for more than 75 years to improve home and community life, strengthen adult education, and promote projects to enhance family and community life. TAFCE strives to lead, educate, grow and share within Tennessee communities.
