Kicking off the Dogwood Arts Festival, the Visitor Center will hold a recycled art reception featuring Jessica Gregory and will display vintage art from EarthFest, plus live entertainment from 6:30-8 p.m.

• Uniquely Friday (A program highlighting local artists & talent) – Each Friday in April


o April 3 – EarthFest Celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary – Enjoy an art display of vintage EarthFest posters and learn more about this zero-waste event. Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

o April 10 – Good Friday Holiday – Visitor Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No Uniquely Friday scheduled.

o April 17-19 – Special three-day Uniquely Knoxville Sampler. Celebrate springtime with a Uniquely Knoxville arts and crafts show hosted by local artists, growers and craftsmen who will demonstrate, display and sell their local wares. Attendees include Big S. Farms, Bobbie Crews (watercolor artist), Smoky Mountain Pottery, Gingersnap Quilts and many more. You’ll also find handmade quilts, locally grown salsa, Knoxville’s own Moonshine Jelly and other Uniquely Knoxville items all weekend long.
Times: Friday, April 17: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 18: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday, April 19: Noon – 5 p.m.

o April 24 – Ijams Nature Center brings its education program to the public at the Visitor Center! Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visitor Center will be open until 9 p.m. for the Dogwood Arts Festival Parade.

o The Uniquely Knoxville Gift Shop is now offering customized Knoxville goody bags and baskets for wedding parties, out of town guests and ceremony souvenirs. These items offer a wide variety of Knoxville foods and locally handcrafted items, and are also customizable for groups and events.
