Knoxville is Volkswagen heaven
The original and best Volkswagen vehicles are hard to come by these days, but they are classic cars that always make us want to yell “Punch Buggy!”
The Knox Volks Motor Club will show off hundreds of classic Volkswagen vehicles at the first annual Summer Jam All Volkswagen Car Show July 25-26 at Chilhowee Park. The event will be the largest all air-and water-cooled Volkswagen car show in the Southeast and it will benefit the Knox Area Rescue Ministries.
Summer Jam will be filled with two days of planned events and cash giveaways, and will not only feature a huge display of air- and water-cooled Volkswagens competing for top spot in their class, but will also include new and used parts vendors, a swap meet, children's activities and games.
Additionally, the event will hold a Volkswagen sale area for spectators to sell or purchase their favorite Volkswagen model. Camping will also be available for spectators who want a non-stop experience of the event.
The event will be held Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Show entry fee is $20 for one vehicle/driver and passenger before July 15, and $20 at the gate after July 15 includes one vehicle/driver. Pre-registered spectator entry fee before July 15 is $10 for both days and $5 at the gate for a pre-registered spectator a day and children under the age of 12 are admitted free with an accompanying adult.
