"Gotta Know Knoxville: Unplugged" premiers
Today, the Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation (KTSC) unveiled “Gotta Know Knoxville: Unplugged,” the movie companion piece to the corporation’s popular “Gotta Know Knoxville” hospitality training program. The movie made its premier in true fashion at the Regal Riviera movie theatre to an audience of local hospitality and tourism partners.
In an effort to always provide an informed response when a tourist poses the question, “What’s there to do in Knoxville?”, since 2007 the KTSC has conducted “Gotta Know Knoxville,” a free program in which hospitality and tourism employees are educated on Knoxville’s tourism offerings. During the training course, participants spend one afternoon watching a presentation and then partaking in a walking and driving tour of the city. When participants complete the program, they become official “Knoxville Ambassadors” and to date, more than 500 people have graduated with this title.
Because of the program’s success, “Gotta Know Knoxville: Unplugged” was produced by the KTSC to help its viewers learn more about where Knoxville visitors should play, stay, dine, meet and learn in a shortened version of what is taught during the “Gotta Know Knoxville” program.
