Knoxville to host CCSA 2010 Swimming & Diving Championships

The University of Tennessee’s Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center will be the host venue for the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association’s (CCSA) 2010 Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 18-20. More than 200 student-athletes from the Atlantic Sun, Big South, Mid-Eastern, and Southern Conferences will travel to Knoxville to compete in this exciting competition.

The event will also bring an economic boost to the community as tourism officials with the Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation (KTSC) project that the CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships will bring more than $720,000 of economic impact to the Knoxville/Knox County area.

“We are very pleased to have such an outstanding host facility for the CCSA swimmers and divers at our 2010 Championships,” said CCSA Executive Director Ted Gumbart. “Our championships showcase an excellent caliber of student-athletes, and the Allan Jones Aquatics Center on the University of Tennessee campus gives us a host site to match.”

Events featured at the meet will include men’s and women’s relays, individual 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, and diving. Click here to view a complete schedule and additional event information.

Tickets may be purchased starting at 8 a.m. on the first day of the event. Prices are $25 for a 3-day pass, $18 for a 2-day pass, and $10 for a 1-day pass. Children under the age of five will be admitted free of charge. Parking will be available for $5 in one of the “N” parking lots north of the Aquatic Center.
