Knoxville ‘flipping’ with excitement this weekend

More than 10,000 spectators are expected to experience the John and John Flip Fest Invitational this weekend, where they will witness thousands of talented girls’ and boys’ gymnastics skills.

The John and John Flip Fest Invitational will take place at the Knoxville Convention Center Jan. 19-21.  Competing in the event will be 2,300 talented athletes from different areas of the United States – all specializing in gymnastics, tumbling and trampoline talents.

The event will have a regional/national-judging panel for male and female levels, along with electronic scoring, a coaches’ and judges’ reception and awards.

Olympian gymnasts John Roethlisberger and John Macready own and operate Flip Fest.  “This is our way of giving back to younger gymnasts and sharing our talents and experience with them. The John and John Flip Fest Invitational offers a great opportunity for gymnasts to show off their talent and compete against other talented gymnasts from around the country,” said Roethlisberger.

Competition hours vary from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 19-21. A full schedule is available online at http://www.flipfest.com/invitational. The invitational is open to the public and tickets will be sold at the door for $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for children ages 6-12 and children under 5 are admitted free with accompanied by an adult.
