More Information About Gotta Know Knoxville
The "Gotta Know Knoxville" program was kicked off on October 24, 2007. Visit Knoxville started the campaign with the goal of educating local tourism partners on what Knoxville has to offer its visitors. Today Visit Knoxville is in the process of developing an off-site version of the program to cater to participants needs.
The original on-site "Gotta Know Knoxville" is a program in which hotel, restaurant and local attraction employees spend one afternoon (approximately four hours) learning about attractions, venues and retail outlets in the Knoxville area. Attendees spend one hour watching a presentation, two hours participating in a walking tour, and another hour partaking in a driving tour. This program is presented each month to a maximum of 15 participants.
In addition to touring and learning about Knoxville's many tourist opportunities, " Gotta Know Knoxville" attendees receive a resource guide, full of helpful information about the area. An "Ambassador Pass" is also distributed to attendees, allowing one-time access to participating attractions.
What to Expect...
On-Site: For the on-site program please remember that we will be walking for approximately 2 hours around downtown Knoxville and riding a bus for one hour. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Certain dress is not required but remember you will be networking with other business employees.
