Clarence Brown Theatre
The University of Tennessee is one of 17 universities nationwide with its own professional theatre associated with the League of Resident Theatres. The Clarence Brown Theatre Company is a LORT D company produced by the university's Department of Theatre and is fully inegrated into its academic curriculum. The Theatre, built in 1970 and dedicated to Clarence Brown, a University of Tennessee alumnus and distinguished film director, is a 576-seat proscenium theatre that presents a wide variety of theatrical and dance performances by faculty, students, and professional guest artists.
