Fort Kid

1050 World's Fair Park
Knoxville, Tennessee 37916
865-215-4311

This 12,000-square-foot playground accommodates about 250 children at one time.  Fort Kid was constructed totally by nearly 3,000 volunteers from all over the Knoxville area, the biggest volunteer construction effort in the city's history and a testimony to the great Tennessee spirit.  The idea of transforming a dormant plot of land in the World's Fair Park into a child's dream was coordinated during Knoxville's 1991 Bicentennial Celebration.

Located between the Victorian Houses and the Knoxville Museum of Art and featuring tunnels, mazes, swings, slides, and bridges, Fort Kid is a popular destination for school, church, and daycare groups.
