Performing Arts
Knoxville's flourishing music and entertainment community keeps the city's spirit hopping.
The city boasts its own symphony, opera and ballet companies, as well as a host of theatres and other live music and performance venues. UT's famous Clarence Brown Theater and the historic Tennessee Theatre bring professional productions in both drama and music to the local stage, and a number of smaller theatres, such as the Black Box Theatre, Laurel Theater, Carpetbag Theatre and the Tennessee Stage Company add to the terrific mix of entertainment options.
